Marissa Benedict started playing trumpet at age 11 with Joe Alessi, Sr. as her first teacher. She grew up in a musical houshold in Marin County, CA, the youngest of 7 children, with her mother teaching her violin and piano from age 7. By the age of 15 she was playing trumpet in the local college musicals, operas and symphonies.
She came to Los Angeles in 1980 to study with Boyde Hood at the University of Southen California where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance. She has remained in Los Angeles and has a very successful carreer as a performer with symphonies, theaters and the studios. Marissa performs with such groups as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, and most recently has become principal trumpet with the Pasadena Symphony.
Her television experience includes playing for such shows as “Star Trek: Enterprise”, “Star Trek: Voyager”, “Jag,” and most recently “Commander in Chief.”
Marissa’s motion picture soundtracks include: Indiana Jones !V, The Polar Express, War of the Worlds, The Terminal, Zorro, Spiderman 2, Lemony Snicket, Flight of the Phoenix, Monsters, Inc., Mission Impossible I and II, XXX, X2, The Hulk, and many more.
Although Marissa enjoys her professional career her pride and joy is her family. She lives in North Hollywood with husband Mike of 20 years, and three children Katelyn, Andrew, and Cori.

Andy Pelletier![]()
Andrew Pelletier is a soloist and Grammy-award winning chamber musician regularly performing across the United States. Of his solo playing, John Henken of the Los Angeles Times wrote, “gleaming, handsome playing. Pelletier is a soloist who seems capable of anything on his instrument.” He is the first prize winner of the 1997 and 2001 American Horn Competition (America’s only internationally recognized competition for the horn) and has appeared as a soloist at the International Horn Society Annual Symposia in 1997, 2003 and 2005. He is in regular demand for artistic residencies and clinics at universities and music schools and his solo tours have taken him to 20 US states, Quebec, Canada, Mexico City, Mexico and Shropshire, England.
An active chamber musician, he is a member of Southwest Chamber Music, with whom he won the 2005 Grammy award for Best Classical Recording (Small Ensemble). As an orchestral performer, he is the principal horn of the Michigan Opera Theatre at the Detroit Opera House and the Ann Arbor Symphony, and has performed as principal horn for the Santa Barbara Symphony, Ann Arbor Ballet Theatre, Michigan Symphonietta, Columbus Bach Ensemble, Long Beach Camerata, Maine Chamber Ensemble and Portland (Maine) Ballet. A regular performer with the Toledo Symphony, he has also performed with the New West Symphony, Portland (Maine) Symphony and Portland Opera Repertory Theatre.
He spent over seven years as an active free-lance performer in Los Angeles and can be heard on film soundtracks such as Lethal Weapon 4, The X-Men, Frequency and various television movies for Lifetime TV and the Sci-Fi Channel. His pedagogical articles have been published by the International Horn Society and the New York Brass Conference. He holds a B.M. degree from the University of Southern Maine, and an M.M. and the D.M.A. from the University of Southern California. His primary teachers are John Boden, James Decker and trumpeter Roy Poper. He has recorded for MSR Classics, Cambria Master Classics and Delos labels. Pelletier serves as the Assistant Professor of Horn at the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts, in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Trombonist Alex has enjoyed a varied and successful career in many musical settings. He is an active member of the musically diverse Southern California freelance performing and recording community. ![]()
Alex began his musical career while a student at UCLA, as a member of the Disneyland All American College Band. He has studied trombone privately with Roy Main, Ralph Sauer, Byron Peebles and Per Brevig. Since graduating from UCLA, he has gone on to enjoy his musical life as an in-demand trombonist/lowbrass performer.
Among the varied palette of artists with whom Alex has performed and/or recorded are: Joe Cocker, James Horner, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Alan Jackson, Zubin Mehta, The Tonight Show, Seal, Hans Zimmer, Johnny Mathis, Lalo Shiffrin, Natalie Cole, Danny Elfman, Ray Charles, Trevor Rabin, Harry Connick Jr., Robbie Williams,Henry Mancini, Josh Grobin, John Zorn, Terence Blanchard, John Williams, Fallout Boy, Johnny Mandel and Prince.
He has toured as lead and solo jazz trombonist with Woody Herman and Maynard Ferguson. Today, he performs and records as a regular member of many of the top big bands and jazz groups in the L.A. area including Bob Florence's Limited Edition, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, and The Tom Kubis Big Band.
He has performed on hundreds of motion picture and television soundtracks.
Alex has played in the pit orchestras of numerous Los Angeles productions of Broadway shows including: "The Lion King","Phantom of the Opera", "Chicago", "West Side Story", "The Producers" and "Wicked".
In 2002 Alex was appointed principal trombonist of the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed as alto, tenor and bass trombonist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The LA Chamber Orchestra, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The Pasadena Symphony, The Pacific Symphony, and the Santa Barbara Symphony.
He has also composed, commissioned and premiered several new works for solo trombone.
Alex has been a faculty trombone and jazz instructor at the California Institute of the Arts . Azusa Packific College and California State University, Northridge. He has appeared as a recitalist, guest soloist, and clinician at the with schools and organizations throughout the United States, including Indiana University, Oklahoma State University, The University of Southern California, and the International Trombone Festival. He is also a consultant and clinician with the the Disney Magic Music Days Program and Disney All-Amercican College Band Program.
Alex is a Conn/Selmer performing artist and plays King and Conn trombones.

Andy Malloy
Andrew Malloy has lived in Los Angeles for over 25 years. He is a New Hampshire native and attended the University of Massachusetts where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. He continued his education at The Juilliard School where he received a Master of Music in Performance. After living and working in New York City he relocated to Los Angeles where he now works as an active freelance musician. He performs as a regular member of the Pasadena, Santa Barbara and New West Symphonies and The Crown City Brass Quintet. In addition, he works with most of the leading musical organizations in the Los Angeles area. These include the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Opera and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra as well as the Long Beach Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and San Luis Obispo Festival Mozaic. He teaches trombone at Cal State University, Northridge, Pepperdine University and California Lutheran University. Active in the area as a solo recitalist, he commissioned and premiered Sonata for Trombone and Piano by Stanley Friedman, Fantasy by Lincoln Hanks and Dozeandeeze by Jim Self in a series of three solo recitals in Los Angeles. He has produced a solo album, BEST OF FRIENDS, including these new works and other works never published or recorded. The solo CD is available at www.cdbaby.com and at www.amazon.com. In the recording field, Mr. Malloy plays regularly for many well-known film composers and has played on hundreds of film soundtracks. Mr. Malloy also participated in the programs of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Festival and the San Luis Obispo Festival Mozaic.
In the fall of 2006 Mr. Malloy performed the Grondahl Trombone Concerto with the Pepperdine Orchestra, and premiered two newly commissioned works by John Steinmetz and Nick Lane in recitals in Los Angeles, New Jersey and Connecticut and performed Jack Hayes “Fantasy for Trombone” with the Gold Coast Wind Ensemble in Thousand Oaks, CA and the CSUN Wind Symohony.
In 2007 Malloy co-produced a new CD of Christmas music “Carols from the Bells” with all proceeds benefiting the Hearts of Music Fund. In February 2008 he recorded a CD with New York bass trombonist John Rojak and LA Phil trombonist James Miller. In late June he will appeared at the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio to perform a work by Jim Self. In July he returned for his third appearance at the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Festival where he performed with the Infiniti Brass Quintet and pianist/composer Billy Childs. During the academic 2008-2009 year he will premiere and record commissioned works by Adrienne Albert, Jason Barabba, Bill Reichenbach and Steven Williams. In addition to these recitals, Spring 2009 will include a performance of the Rimsky Korsakov Concerto for Trombone and Band as well as performance and new recording of Lincoln Hanks “Fantasy for Trombone and Piano.

Bill Reichenbach grew up in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Takoma Park, Maryland where he studied trombone with Gene Brusiloff and Robert Isele. After high school, Bill was accepted to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. There, he studied with the great Emory Remington. While still a student, Bill began his recording career by playing on several Chuck Mangione albums, a couple of albums with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, and the first recording of Leonard Bernstein’s “Mass” which was composed for the opening of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
After graduation, Bill toured for while with the Buddy Rich Big Band. During this time, the band recorded an album called “Stick It” which featured Bill on an arrangment of Jobim’s “Wave”.
In 1975, Bill moved to L.A. were he started playing the jazz tenor trombone chair on Toshiko Akiyoshi’s big band. He made quite a few albums with the band over the next several years and was a featured soloist on all of them. At the same time, Bill was also the solo jazz trombone player on Don Menza’s big band and he recorded solos on an album with the band. Don put together a sextet out of the big band and featured Bill on tenor and bass trombone on a recording with that band.
As a studio player, Bill has played on about 1000 records, 700 motion pictures, and countless TV shows and jingles. Bill’s jazz quartet album ("Special Edition") featuring Peter Erskine on drums, Jimmy Johnson on bass, and Biff Hannon on piano, reached number 10 on the national jazz radio play lists. New York trombonist Mike Davis and Bill have done 4 albums together – “Bonetown”, “Brass Nation”, "New Brass" and most recently, “Absolute Trombone II” and have played concerts all over the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Bill has been a featured artist and clinician at several International Trombone Festivals including Utrecht (Holland), Nashville, Urbana (Illinois), and most recently at North Texas State University.

Bill is an Artist-clinician for the C. G. Conn Co. He has given master classes and clinics throughout the United States, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
As a writer and arranger, Bill has worked on records for Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Aretha Franklin, Dr. John, Diana Ross and others. He has arranged many HBO Special Themes and composed the theme for the HBO One Night Stand comedy show. Bill also composed the theme for Fox’s animated series Peter Pan & the Pirates as well as much of the underscoring. He contributed to such films and shows as Licorice Pizza, I Love Trouble, Frank’s Place, Baby Boom, Brand New Life, Snoops, Teen Wolf, and the special Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue. Bill composed the main title for a series of Kurt Vonnegut stories called Welcome to the Monkey House for Showtime. He has recently completed a score for a documentary film about Frank Lloyd Wright called A Very Proud House.

" . . . a player of astonishing flamboyance" (the Los Angeles Times) and "impressive dash" (the Orange County Register), Doug Tornquist has been a part of southern California's freelance musical world since 1987. He combines a busy life of recording, performing and teaching. He has taught award-wining brass quintets at the University of Southern California and is also a member of the faculties of the California State Universities at Northridge and Fullerton, Pepperdine University and the California Institute of the Arts.![]()
He is a regular performer in the major orchestras in the region, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Opera, and has performed on the scores of many films, including those of John Williams, James Newton Howard, Elmer Bernstein, Danny Elfman, and Alan Sylvestri.
His degrees are from Wichita State Universtiy and the University of Southern California, where he earned his DMA. He was a prize winner at the International Tuba and Euphonium Competiton in Riva del Garda, Italy. He recently recorded a CD featuring solo tuba and other instruments, as well as two albums with the German brass quintet, Quintadillac. He is possibly best known for his recording, with John LIthgow, of "I'm a Manatee."
